Questions/suggestions
- Could the main page's "How YOU Can Expose ALEC" part get a separate section for "how you can dig up info about ALEC"? (or a link thereto) - right now, I'm having trouble seeing tips there, for actually doing so.
- It'd be nice to have a place for information we unearth aboutt *attempted* ALEC legislation, not just the 20% of bills that passed.
- Are there tips on how to find such info from days of yore? (for the 1980s, 90s, and early 2000s) (How far back in time do the databases go? how about the "800 model bills"?)
I'm asking because I want to find out about Tom McClintock's efforts in California, whenwhere he was a state legislator starting back in the early 1980s - and to run through website after website without turning up the kind or vintage of data I need, gets frustrating.
(re the dates - I basically need some pre-2000 data; a McClintock staffer has told me he was an ALEC member from 2000-2003, but didn't explicitly rule out earlier or later periods.)
